This purpose built facility has five child-centred rooms that lead directly onto the outdoor area and it has new contemporary equipment – eibe’s eibelino and eduline ranges - throughout.
The onsite cook also ensures that the children are offered fresh, nutritious meals and snacks daily.
eibe first got involved with the RUSU project in the summer of 2009, having been successful in a rigorous tender process. Working closely with Nursery Manager Maria Key, it was important to utilise a wide range of furniture to meet EYFS requirements for the children.
The eibe creative team led by Design Director David Hibberd delivered a scaled-layout proposal to demonstrate which pieces of furniture would suit the different rooms and would fit harmoniously within the required space.
Despite very tight deadlines, the project team worked seamlessly alongside the building contractors, Terrapin, to complete the entire garden and indoor furnishings in just three weeks.
The outside playspace is a clever combination of elements, including a section for sand and water play and a Sensory planting area in bark mulch for experimenting with growing and digging. There is also a hill mound and crawling tunnel adventure area, plus a Wicker village for story time and relaxation.
David Wallis, eibe's Playspace Consultant for the region, is more than happy to show any prospective clients around the Little Learners reference site.
