eibe – Tradition, Pedigree and Owner Management

Tilo Eichinger has been the company owner since 2005 - the succession of generation change has thus been completed. Today, eibe is established as one of the leading manufacturers of complete kindergarten furniture and equipment, school equipment and playground equipment. Approximately 250 employees take care of the development, production and sales of eibe’s high-quality products.

Active as chairman of the BSFH (German Federal Association of the Manufacturers of Play Equipment and Recreational Centres, e.V.), Tilo Eichinger has twice received prestigious awards - The “Entrepreneur of the Year, 2009” as well as the “Grand Prize of the Medium-sized Businesses – Finalist 2009”.

Tilo continues the tradition whereby the company is passed from generation to generation - eibe has now been owner-managed since 1438, covering EIGHT centuries.

eibe was first mentioned in the church records of the town of Röttingen in the fifteenth century and The Hartmut Eichinger Company stems from this original traditional carpentry business. It was in 1975 that the name was officially changed to eibe.

Since 1971, eibe products have time and again received nationally and internationally recognised prizes such as the Worlddidac, the “if – Die gute Industrieform” award, as well as the German Federal award “Gute Form”. The starting point for this series of awards originated from the eibe gym equipment system through to the successful amalgamation of function and design. Furthermore, all elements of our equipment can be combined with each other to create wholly unique, dynamic playscapes.
