Bryn Bach Brings Back Play to South Wales

Just south of the Brecon Beacons National Park on the banks of the Sirhowy River, lies the town of Tredegar and the location on one of Wales’ most popular Leisure Attractions.

Parc Bryn Bach is set in 340 acres of idyllic natural surroundings, a haven for wildlife with grass and woodland aplenty. There is a picturesque lake surrounded by myriad of things to do – it is the perfect setting for a range of activities for visitors of all ages and abilities.

With plans to improve the facilities at Parc Bryn Bach with a new Adventure Play Area and Bunkhouse accommodation a 2020 imperative, a tender for the work took place at the end of 2019 and community engagement sessions were held to ascertain what youngsters really wanted from a play area. eibe Play was selected as the preferred supplier following its innovative design proposal and product portfolio.

Working in close conjunction with Chris Engel at Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and Phil Sykes and Cath Hares of Parc Bryn’s management company, Aneurin Leisure, eibe’s plan was to make the £180,000 project available to everyone with a cleverly planned scheme with a mix of adventure and all-inclusive products.

The new Adventure Play Area project was aided hugely by Welsh Government funding through the Valleys Regional Park initiative and was finally opened in August 2020, so it can be enjoyed by locals and visitors throughout the summer holidays.

The centrepiece of the playground is eibe’s amazing Unique “Artur” play unit, which features a massive tube slide. Elsewhere there is a Venetos unit, a Double Cableway, Nest Swings, a Wheelchair Roundabout and eibe Spider, all installed onto around 1,000 square metres of Wetpour.

It is a striking play park that will add another new dimension to the fabulous surroundings and make Bryn Bach even busier for years to come.
