eibe success at John Rankin Junior School

eibe Play was approached by the school in 2021, to provide them with some ideas, as to how they can improve their play providing within their Junior school grounds. Their current play equipment offering existed of a low balancing trail, and sports field, however, the school wanted to enhance this by providing a play item, that promotes risk and challenge.

We carried out a detailed site meeting with the school, and identified our brilliant Unique range, as the perfect combination of play value to match what the school required. Refining this even further, the school and eibe Play, decided that our Play Unit Ramiris was the climbing and balancing structure the school wanted to move forward with.

The school wanted a challenging play item that promotes both challenge and risk, and that encourages the school children to problem solve and push themselves as they move around it. Another key factor for the school was playing at height, which offers unique play opportunities, and that is continuous so that children didn’t need to get off to move on to the next section. The Ramiris unit works perfectly for this and even has many ascents and descents allowing this if it is required.

The Play Unit Ramiris, is made from durable and quality manufactured softwood pine, and each of the posts goes into the ground on a galvanised steel foot. It is designed to challenge the user, whilst promoting key development skills such as hand-eye coordination, balancing and lower body coordination. All of which are vital for a healthy child’s development.

The installation of this item was planned to take place during the school’s summer holiday, to avoid any disruption to the school. The works went very successfully and were completed on time. The school decided to include a bonded mulch surface with wet pour graphics. These were designed to be as natural looking as possible, to help it blend into the natural surroundings of the school.

eibe Play cannot wait to hear the feedback from the school children and will work alongside the school to ensure it’s a repeated success for many years to come.
