New climbing adventure installed for Arun District Council at Hotham Park

Following a successful play area refurbishment in Findon for Arun District Council, eibe Play was asked to provide options to replace an older climbing structure that had passed its usable date at their play area at Hotham Park.

Hotham Park is the only large park to serve the people of Bognor Regis. Some 23000 people live within half a mile of the park, and an estimated 14000 live within that distance. The park is close to the town centre, Butlins Holiday Centre, the University Campus and the seafront.

The brief was that the client wanted to create that WOW factor and provide a climbing structure designed for children aged seven and above, where they could experience a lot of challenge and problem-solving.

After consultation with the council, it was agreed that the exciting Kaya Play System was the unit with which the council wished to move forward.

The council loved the multiple climbing opportunities that the Kaya had to offer. The various timber beams, located at different heights and angles, make this item challenging to climb and balance. The council also liked the fact that once the children got to the top of the structure, they would get a sense of achievement. However, on the flip side, if they want to get off at any point, they can. The internal nets and crossings make it one of our most challenging climbing structures for juniors and teens, with plenty of opportunities to grow and improve key development and risk-taking skills. Such as hand-eye coordination and upper-body strength.

Made from durable Pine, with metal feet and stainless steel fixings, this play structure fits into any surroundings. And offers a lovely warm, and natural play experience.

The installation went without a hitch and was completed within two working weeks. The installation was complemented with a brand new bonded mulch surface that was laid over a new Type one stone sub base.

eibe Play cannot wait to hear the feedback from the local children and will work alongside the council to ensure it’s a repeated success for many years to come.
