Peep over the hedge and your in for a nice surprise - New natural park for fabulous Findon.

Findon is a semi-rural clustered village and civil parish in the Arun District of West Sussex, England, 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Worthing. The parish is on the slopes of and between two hills: Cissbury with its Iron Age hill fort to the east and a steep knoll Church Hill to the west. A further escarpment to the West and North stretches along the borders of the area. In 2022, eibe play received a tender released by Arun District Council for the refurbishment of Homewood Play Area. This play area is situated in the middle of the village and is close to a local primary school and housing estate. Because of this, the play area is a popular and well-loved amenity for the local residents.

The brief we received was to add to existing play items and generally improve the play offerings within the play space. The existing junior multi-play unit was installed in the 1990s and was providing the council with numerous maintenance issues. This item was also installed onto a bark pit, which was proving costly for the council to maintain. Therefore, we removed the multi-play unit and installed our new and modern Robinia Magnus Multi play unit, jammed-packed with play value. This item is designed for children five years and older and includes various challenging accents and crossings, topped off with an exciting 1.45m high slide. This was installed onto a nature-themed bonded mulch surface, which has been designed to be in keeping with the play area's surroundings. Within the play area, we increased the play value even more, including our Spring Rocker Ugo and role play panels. When designing any play space, we try to include play value that may be missing from the existing play space. For example, the Ugo Spring Rocker, designed to look like a bug, provides role play and springing. Whilst also promoting eye feet and hand coordination. The village-themed play panels offer a fantastic opportunity for role play and puzzle solving. Outside the play area, we have located our 20m Robinia Cableway towards the back of the field, adding an enjoyable and exciting play experience for the children using the playing field. Just outside the play area, we have created a fantastic nature trail using a mixture of natural materials found in the local area, such as balancing logs and beams, boulders a small grassed mound adding a fantastic amount of play value to the play space. Alongside this, our Robinia Balancing Course Osawina adds to the already fun and challenging play course.
eibe play is looking forward to supporting Arun District Council and the local community to ensure this play area is a success for its life on the ground.
