It was thus an absolute delight to work on a recent project with Tates of Sussex, a similarly ancestrally strong, remarkable business. Indeed, records are able to trace the Tate family living and working on local land in the Sussex area as early as 1601. I wonder if our great great great great (etc.) grandparents knew each other way back when Guy Fawkes was plotting his deeds…

Located roughly seven miles north of Brighton in West Sussex, South Downs Nurseries and Garden Centre in Hassocks, is the largest of the “Tates” five centres spread across the South East. Working alongside Sarah Mead, Director, this was the first of two schemes installed – the other at Horsham will be carried out later this year.
The £50,000 South Downs Project revolved around a farm yard theme to complement their on-site Heritage Centre. The brightly coloured playspace includes our agricultural bestseller, the Tractor, as well as Jumping lily pads, a Cow Slide, a stunning bespoke Country House Climbing Unit, Themed Farmyard Play Panels and Sheep Spring rockers, a great mix of traditional and contemporary play items.
It goes without saying that during these incredibly trying times, eibe Play’s commitment to the welfare of everybody we encounter is of paramount importance to us.
