eibe's "Land Ahoy" is the call at Skerne Park Primary School |
 |
The children of Skerne Park Primary School in Darlington came back after their Summer Holidays to a great surprise!!!
Whilst they were off enjoying their summer break a team of eibe installers were working hard to complete the new Pinta Play Ship in time for the children’s return to school. |
The ship standing an impressive thirteen metres long and four metres high has certainly been a winner with the children and staff. It has bags of Play Value from its Trawler Net, Anchor, Steering Wheel, Wobbly Bridge and Slide this boat has everything needed for hours and hours of endless fun on the high Seas.

Promoting climbing, balance and co-ordination, communication and role-play you can see why the children love it so much. Not only can it be used as a Play Unit, the deck is even big to hold an outdoor Classroom where teachers can tell stories of the Pirates and Sailors of old. Or why not use the open Space under the Ships deck for a den area or to store your treasure!! |

The ship and its Wetpour safety surfacing took just three days to install, and was achieved by using some of the Schools Devolved Capital to fund the project.
Mark Gornall, eibe’s Play Space Consultant for the North East commented “It just goes to show that the eibe product range is wonderfully versatile. This piece of equipment sits equally as well in a School Playground as it would in a Public Open Space and it shows that eibe can offer something to everyone looking provide a facility for children to play no matter what type of establishment they are or what budget they have. eibe can do it all.”
