After a democratic voting process, the will of the Katherine Park Residents’ Association chose eibe Play to be its preferred supplier for their new playground at Corsham in Wiltshire.

Three companies initially presented their plans for the park at a meeting at the Town Hall – the winner was to be decided by a local vote with relevant stakeholders. A series of public meetings thus ensued to discuss plans and products for the site, and eibe received the good news at the beginning of May.

The children’s play area, targeted at all age groups, will be built on land north of Freestone Way for families living on the new estate and will be enclosed by a fence.

Chairman of the Residents’ Association Matt Harpham said:

“We didn’t know how many people would come along, but we had about 60 votes cast in the end.”

Jason Lee, eibe’s West Country Consultant, said the tension was almost like the Eurovision Song Contest.

“Thankfully we got a lot more votes than the UK normally do!”
