As a direct result of eibe’s bespoke Titanic themed scheme at Houndwell Park in the summer of 2013, Southampton City Council chose eibe to once again be its preferred supplier for a new playspace in the local area.
In a £30,000 project led by Southampton’s Play Development Officer, Tony Hill, the new playspace at Sullivan Road was finished just before Christmas despite some unpleasant weather in the lead-up to the festive period.
eibe installed a whole new playground next to an existing MUGA near to a residential estate. Having completely removed an old area due to flooding, the council asked eibe to relocate several pieces of existing equipment including a nest swing, a roundabout and an in-floor trampoline. We then installed a bespoke climbing unit and a tubular slide which contains a wobbly bridge, climbing net and wall. A Daisy Toddler Swing set was also included to cater for smaller children alongside two brand new spring rockers, a seesaw and climbing pyramid. As you can see from the images below, there really is plenty of play pieces that the neighbourhood kids will enjoy for years to come.
