With a helpful donation from a neighbouring farmer and using the expertise of local playscape expert John Foster, Slindon Parish Council recently upgraded their village play offering by installing some eibe equipment at the Top Playing Field.
Council members had agreed that the priority was to ensure that relevant funds were spent accordingly on different equipment that was enjoyable and safe for children and any surplus should be put towards the replacement of the swings. As a result, and at a cost of just £3,000, a brand new 4 seater seesaw adorns the park, alongside a set of new swings, all set up on grass matting.
Paul Redden, managing director, explains why joint ventures can work in such a positive way:
“This partnership project is a great example of where schemes can be enhanced by working with credible partners and specialists. The products look great in the surrounding countryside and eibe has fulfilled the council’s desire to bring the play equipment at the Top Playing Field up to a high standard.”
