Following a fiercely competitive tender process, eibe has just unveiled a newly refurbished playground in Scotland, courtesy of East Dunbartonshire Council.
Work began on the £35,000 Twechar Recreation Ground before Christmas and was completed in mid-January, under the management of Gillian Telfer, the Team Leader at Neighbourhood Services Strategy.
The removal and disposal of all existing equipment was the first priority for the eibe installation team, an issue made more problematic because of adverse weather conditions. Eventually a specialist digger had to be ordered to break the hardened ground; there was also a lack of concrete as all local plants were closed!
All challenges were met with typical eibe gusto and resolve, and the new equipment was introduced once suitable foundations were in place. The redeveloped playspace features an array of innovative products including the Fantallica Astra and 30 metre Aerial Cableway, as well as a Seesaw and a Carousel.
Mark Gornall, eibe's Sales Manager, commented: I think sometimes when you have to overcome certain difficulties the end result is even more rewarding. The team did a cracking job in pretty horrendous conditions. The client is certainly happy and they really appreciated all the team's endeavours."
